Professional Experience

Carol F. Barton is an attorney with Estate Preservation Law Offices. Her practice concentrates on estate planning, estate and trust administration, elder law and Medicaid planning, and special needs and disability planning. Carol also represents clients in various probate matters including estate administration, guardianships and conservatorships.

Carol’s legal experience is broad and extensive. She effectively counsels clients in a variety of estate planning, elder law and related matters, and is an experienced advocate in probate court matters. Her background in real estate law provides valuable insights into the real estate transactions that often accompany estate planning. Carol is skilled in helping clients navigate sensitive healthcare matters and works closely with professionals in long-term care facilities as well as social workers and geriatric case managers in community settings.

Prior to joining EPLO, Carol worked as an associate at law firms in the Worcester and Boston areas. She also successfully managed her own law practice for a number of years.

Carol has been associated with the American Cancer Society (ACS) since 2008 as a volunteer at the organization’s Hope Lodge in Worcester, MA. She has served in national roles including Chair of the Nationwide Gift Planning Advisor Council of ACS and is a recipient of its prestigious National Advisor of the Year for 2020 award. Additionally, she was selected as a recipient of the 2021 Sandra C. Labaree Volunteer Values Award by the Eastern New England chapter of ACS. Carol is a member of the Board of Directors and past-President of the Long Term Care Finance Association.

Carol has developed and presented educational seminars on topics relating to elder law and estate planning for various organizations.
