You could read all about Estate Preservation Law Offices (EPLO) on our website (www.estatepreservationlaw.com). However, you might prefer a quick snapshot provided firsthand by a member of the firm. Let me share with you some information about EPLO that I discovered earlier this year before joining the firm.
The law firm was founded early in 2009 by two entrepreneurial attorneys, Brendan J. King and Linda T. Cammuso. Observing the significant changes in the estate planning and asset protection industry, they formed EPLO to establish a team of legal professionals who offer dynamic and innovative solutions that fully address the legal and financial concerns of today’s families and businesses. Their goal was to effectively navigate the increasingly complex planning landscape while providing an unparalleled level of service to their clients.
In researching the credentials of both partners, I found that between them they had extensive experience in estate planning and asset protection. Furthermore, they have earned recognition for their knowledge and for their bold, multi-faceted approach to bridging the gap between estate planning and asset protection.
Brendan King graduated from The College of the Holy Cross, Suffolk University of Law and has a Master’s of Law in Taxation from Boston University of Law School. He has been practicing law since 1997 and before founding EPLO, he was a partner at Fusaro, Altomare & Ermilio where he established and chaired its Estate, Trust and Tax Department. Brendan has earned a reputation for his expertise in integrating asset and wealth preservation with estate planning. He has broad experience in the complexities of estate planning and probate matters and in managing the administration of trusts and estates. He is also a strong advocate of community outreach and serves on many non-profit boards in central Massachusetts. He is a co-host on Money Matters Radio in the central Massachusetts, Boston and south shore markets.
Linda Cammuso holds her bachelor’s degree from Assumption College and her juris doctor degree from Suffolk University Law School. Like Brendan, she previously practiced law at Fusaro, Altomare & Ermilio. She is accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs. While studying for her undergraduate and law degrees, Linda worked in the nursing home industry where she gained valuable experience and insight into long-term care issues. Her knowledge in this field is a distinct benefit in working with clients who are facing long-term planning challenges. She serves on the board of directors for Girls Inc., Worcester, and is a feature columnist for Fifty Plus Advocate.
As partners, Brendan and Linda share similar philosophies, particularly when it comes to dealing with clients. They treat clients and their families with respect and integrity, and are committed to providing strategic and innovative estate and asset protection planning solutions that fully protect their clients’ interests during their lifetimes and preserve them for future generations.
As you can see my decision to join Estate Preservation Law Offices ended up being an easy one.
Now that I’m here, let me tell you a little bit about myself and my role at the firm.
I hold my bachelor’s degree from Anna Maria College and my juris doctor from New England School of Law. I have a litigation background and, prior to joining the firm, I worked as a law clerk to the Justices of the Superior Court of Massachusetts, where I worked closely with Justices in all phases of civil and criminal litigation and supervised first year law clerks. During law school, I worked for the Worcester District Attorney’s Office, and served as an Editor of the New England Law Review.
My practice here at the firm, like Brendan and Linda’s, is multi-faceted. While much of my time is focused on drafting estate planning documents and meeting with clients, I spend an equal amount of time involved in smaller niches of the estate planning world. For example, a large part of my practice is devoted to guardianships and conservatorships; I also concentrate on corporate planning for closely-held and family businesses.
While the backgrounds and expertise of the attorneys at EPLO vary, our strongest bond is our shared commitment to our clients. We may each love this area of law for a different reason, but we all go home each day knowing we have made a real difference in the lives of our clients.
